Resources

Statement of Issue

Although there are a variety of catechetical resources available in the United States, many can be difficult to locate. Others are often designed for parishes vastly different than the context in which they need to be used and therefore are difficult to make relevant in a diversity of catechetical settings.  Many resources either do not connect or inadequately address the critical role of evangelization as the over arching context for catechesis. With these concerns in mind, the desired outcomes of the Resources Work Group is to work with bishops, publishers, and national, diocesan and parish organizations to ensure there is a wide spectrum of resources regarding adolescent catechesis that are:

  • Authentic
  • Accessible
  • Inspirational
  • Relevant
  • Understandable

As the work of NIAC continues, the Resources Initiatives work group will be gathering resources, and developing new tools so that parishes, schools, dioceses, families, and individuals can use to better train themselves and their catechists and to use in direct service to young people.

Currently in this section you will be able to find links to catechetical documents, the papers written for the National Initiative on Adolescent Catechesis, and Information on the Virtual Symposium on Adolescent Catechesis that you can host in your parish, school or diocese.
